The North Alabama region consists of numerous technology and engineering firms that have contributed to our economic and population growth for the past fifty years. With the increase of successful graduation rates of our high schools, colleges and universities, we are proud to be helping students identify their path in supply chain management, manufacturing and robotics technology SMaRT careers, and perfect their skills for challenging environments. With Huntsville known as the Science, Tech and Engineering capital of the South, it helps to have business groups like the Huntsville Association of Technical Societies (HATS) supporting educational programs that employ future leaders of the world.

The Redstone Arsenal

Redstone Arsenal, near Huntsville, Alabama, lies in a wetland area connected to the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge. It’s a census-designated place in Madison County, Alabama, part of the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. The base hosts various military groups, the FBI, and NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. Initially for chemical weapons, now renowned for rocket and space projects.

NASA – HSV Rocket

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center (USSRC) hosts Space Camp®, Aviation Challenge® Camp, Space Camp Robotics, and U.S. Cyber Camp. It’s the world’s most comprehensive museum of U.S. manned spaceflight hardware, with valuable artifacts worth millions. The museum displays historical items like Explorer I and modern space vehicles, representing the past and future of human spaceflight. The USSRC is Marshall Space Flight Center’s Official NASA Visitor Center and a Smithsonian Institution affiliate.

Huntsville International Airport (HSV)

Huntsville International Airport (HSV) is the largest commercial airport in North Alabama, serving over 1.2 million passengers annually. It is well-known for its excellent customer service, modern technology, and convenience. HSV offers nonstop flights to 13 destinations, including major cities like Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and more. Navigating the airport is quick and easy, and it provides convenient access to all the attractions and businesses in the North Alabama region.

Research Park

The Research Park district is a progressive and vibrant area in the state, known for its technology firms, research centers, and educational institutions. It’s continuously growing and offers diverse shopping, dining, and lodging options. While a hub for work opportunities, it also serves as a popular destination for leisure and entertainment.

Huntsville Hospital Health System

Huntsville Hospital is an 881-bed hospital that serves as the regional referral center for North Alabama and southern Tennessee. Huntsville Hospital is governed by the Health Care Authority of the City of Huntsville and is the second-largest hospital in Alabama. In recent years, the hospital has expanded its services throughout the region with the development of Huntsville Hospital Health System, which includes hospitals in Huntsville, Madison, Athens, Decatur, Boaz, Guntersville, Moulton, Red Bay, Sheffield and Scottsboro, Ala., as well as Fayetteville, Tenn. The Health System includes more than 2,500 patient beds and 17,000 employees.
