SMaRT with ASSCM
SMART, with a capital A, originally stands for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound as it relates to objectives and goals. SMaRT, with a little a, was developed by the ASSCM team to represent our core beliefs in education, grant research and community awareness. SMaRT is a different concept from STEM because it focuses on how products, that are designed and developed using Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics principles, go through the Manufacturing, Production, Assembly, and Sub Assembly processes. Supply Chain is the overarching big picture of how to manage that product “cradle to grave” or Concept to Disposal.
After a company designs and develops a product using (STEM) education, how do they manufacture it, bring it to market, and then recycle it after consumer use? These are the types of questions and research that we specialize in with SMaRT.
